When you don’t have an in-house expert, or simply not enough hours in the day, you can get practical helps from Risk and Safety Plus.  The operational services available include:

• Routine site inspections, including ‘themed’ visits (e.g. in response to HSE campaigns).
• Ad-hoc inspections – to examine such things as fire precautions, disability access, maintenance standards, housekeeping, employee involvement and work practices, or, indeed any specific area of operation or issue
• On-site supervision
• Safety and rescue teams
• Medics
• Guards and mobile patrols
• Outsourcing of the entire risk management and/or occupational safety function
• Accident Investigations – provide an independent report, for the client, allowing an evaluation of responses to prevent a recurrence, without the interference of vested interests, such as the enforcement agencies, personal injuries claim specialists, or even their insurer, that may be looking for statutory breaches to prosecute, litigation opportunities or limitation of their own liability.

High-risk activities (i.e. confined spaces entry, working at height or over water etc.) demand a higher degree of control than low or medium risk activities.  Occasionally, specialist safety teams are required to protect the clients’ interests. This is especially so when contractors and sub-contractors need to be co-ordinated, to prevent unsafe practices developing and Safety Management Systems (SMS) being overridden.

Personnel can also be provided for close protection, door stewarding and general security work from the team, thereby offering additional skills, at no extra cost.
